Higher education is unimaginable without Erasmus – states the announcement of the National Conference of Student Self-Governments (HÖOK).

Ministry: Erasmus+ Programmes to Continue Undisturbed This Year

As far as HÖOK knows, students who are currently on Erasmus or who are preparing for Erasmus mobility this year will presumably not be disadvantaged, however, in order for this to remain the case in 2024, the Hungarian government and the European Union must come to an agreement as soon as possible.

There is room for criticism regarding the model change. HÖOK has also formulated countless proposals in recent years, but the debates to resolve the errors cannot be about students’ access to education or certain services, such as exchange programs, the announcement added.

HÖOK has contacted the leaders of the European Students’ Union, which represents students at the European level, and is also initiating a discussion with the Hungarian Representation of the European Commission.

“Students’ access to education and student services is an issue that transcends political positions, so all actors capable of solving the situation must work to find a satisfactory solution for the students as soon as possible. We strongly request the relevant decision-makers to find a solution to the situation as soon as possible. before the start of the spring application period,” says the statement written by HÖOK Budai’s press chief Marcell.
