A train collided with a truck and split in two in Sátoraljaújhely on Monday night, and two people were injured in the accident, Mávinform reported.
According to the available information, the passenger train departing from Szerencs to Sátoraljaújhely at 20.21 collided with a truck before arriving at the terminal, at 21.10. The train split in two and the front part derailed, the overhead line also tore off.
The driver of the train and the truck driver both were seriously injured, but they are not in life-threatening conditions. Both were taken to hospital. The passengers of the train and the staff other than the driver were not injured. Mávinform wrote that the light barrier in the gateway worked well at the time of the accident.
The recovery after the technical rescue may take several days, during which time replacement buses run between Sátoraljaújhely and Sárospatak.
